2023-2024 Youth Advisory Board

The Reengagement Center Youth Advisory Board ensures that young people's voices remain at the center of the Reengagement Center's work. Board members provide feedback on programs and services, identify emerging needs, and help shape initiatives that impact young people across Greater New Orleans.

By bringing their lived experiences, ideas, and leadership to the table, Youth Advisory Board members play a vital role in strengthening the REC and advancing solutions that are informed by and accountable to young people.

  • Irie Arnaud, a recent graduate with a master's degree in social work from Southern University at New Orleans, embodies the spirit of community care and empowerment. Her passion for traveling and self-improvement extends beyond personal growth; Irie aims to bring her experiences back to her community, using her social work skills to foster resilience and positive change. With a vibrant personality, she channels her love for pink, Beyoncé, and reality TV into creative approaches that connect with people on a deeper level, making her a beacon of hope and support for those she serves.

  • Chi’an Lodge is pursuing an Associate's degree in Psychology at Delgado Community College, where her love for public chemistry fuels her desire to contribute to community health and wellness. A dedicated student passionate about anime, video games, and art, Chi’an uses her creative talents to engage youth in educational and empowerment initiatives. Her commitment to making a difference shines through in her efforts to bridge the gap between science and community outreach, fostering a more informed and connected society.

  • Paris White, a dedicated mother and aspiring nurse, is preparing to join the Navy this fall while continuing her studies in Practical Nursing at Nunez Community College. Paris’s passion for caring for others drives her to excel in her personal endeavors and uplift her community. She blends her artistic talents in painting and her business-oriented mindset with a focus on community health, aiming to inspire other young mothers to pursue their dreams despite challenges. Paris's journey is a testament to the strength of resilience and the power of nurturing both family and community.

    Rogdericka has been recognized as an alumni and ambassador for her commitment to adult and community education. She has been invited to national and international conferences to discuss the impacts of post-Katrina recovery on the New Orleans education system. She is a recipient of the "Women Breaking Barriers in Literacy" award from One Book, One New Orleans. In 2023, she was the Keynote Speaker at the 16th Annual Greater New Orleans Adult Education Graduation. 

    Rogdericka owns Paradise Candles, a brand for candle lovers worldwide who appreciate high-quality products and fragrances. When she isn't educating young minds, she enjoys cooking and baking, DIY projects, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to those who need it most. 

  • Sema’J Williams is an independent car dealer entrepreneur, leveraging his business acumen to create opportunities for both himself and his community. As an active Youth Advisory Board member at The Reengagement Center, Semaj combines his passion for entrepreneurship with a deep commitment to mentoring and community uplift. His approach to business is not just about selling cars; it’s about building trust and creating economic empowerment within his community. Guided by his faith and love for singing, Semaj strives to inspire others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams while contributing positively to society.
    Dayna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. 

  • Sereniti Childs, a student at the University of New Orleans pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration, channels her entrepreneurial spirit into community empowerment. With dreams of becoming a CEO in the hair industry, Sereniti is focused on creating inclusive and empowering business models that support local communities. Her passion for travel and cultural appreciation drives her to bring diverse perspectives into her work, fostering a sense of global awareness and community connectivity. Sereniti's journey is about more than personal success—it's about leading others to discover their potential and create meaningful impact.
