Youth Advisory Board
The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) gives young people ages 16-24 a direct role in shaping programs, services, and opportunities at the Reengagement Center. Members provide feedback, share lived experiences, and help ensure that youth voices remain at the center of decision-making.
Through leadership development, community engagement, and collaborative projects, participants build advocacy skills while helping improve systems and resources for young people across New Orleans. YAB members serve as ambassadors for youth voice, working alongside staff and community partners to create meaningful change.
Artivism Club with Trinity City Arts
Artivism Club is a free youth leadership and arts program that empowers young people ages 16-24 to use creative expression as a tool for storytelling, advocacy, and social change. Through hands-on projects, collaborative workshops, and leadership development activities, participants explore issues affecting their communities while developing their artistic voice.
Whether through visual art, writing, music, performance, digital media, or other creative forms, participants learn how art can challenge harmful narratives, inspire dialogue, and imagine new possibilities. Artivism Club creates space for young people to build community, strengthen creative skills, and share their perspectives with the broader public.
The NET Partnership
Through its partnership with The NET Charter High Schools, the Reengagement Center provides in-school support designed to help students stay engaged, overcome barriers, and work toward their educational and career goals.
Services may include individualized case management, postsecondary and career planning, resource navigation, leadership development opportunities, and connections to supportive services. By meeting students where they are, the partnership helps young people build the skills, confidence, and support networks needed to successfully navigate high school and prepare for life after graduation.
